Dr. Amanda Whiteley is a native of Texas. Originally from San Antonio, she attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas for undergraduate studies. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. There she served in a number of administrative roles including Chief Resident during her last year of training.
Dr. Whiteley holds appointments as Assistant Professor University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Clinical Assistant Professor Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Whitely specializes in the area of adult psychiatry including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. Her interests are in cognitive behavior therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She is involved in resident education in outpatient and inpatient settings with the Seton Healthcare Family. Dr. Whiteley is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
