Dr. Egeland completed his residency at University of Michigan Integrated Plastic Surgery program. During residency, Dr. Egeland was an integral part of a research team that developed a bioelectrical interface device capable of controlling robotic limbs with our own nervous system. This successful work was patented and has subsequently helped secure major government and military funding. His research experiences led to a clinical interest in reconstruction of complex injuries and microsurgery. Dr. Egeland completed a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in 2012. Dr. Egeland has been published many times on such topics as clinical anatomy and plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is the recipient of several research grants, as well as numerous awards for research, teaching and presentation. Dr. Egeland’s clinical interests include Trauma, Breast, and Oncologic Reconstruction, Microsurgery, Peripheral Nerve injuries, Facial Nerve paralysis, Rhinoplasty, and Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. Egeland enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children as well as being outdoors skiing, cycling or fishing.
